THIS CHRIST-CENTERED FACILITY IS DIFFERENT.

FOCUSING ON CAUSES & PAIN

NOT DRUGS.

A NEW HEART will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26.
This verse captures the sense of our newest venture -
     NEW HEARTLAND MEN'S RECOVERY CENTER.
Located in a serene, rural upstate NY setting, this facility pictured above offers a safe and secure place for men to focus on genuine life changes with a minimum of distractions. Shared rooms each have toilet and shower.  3rd floor has space for study and groups.  Adjacent conference center provides for family visits, worship, and dinners.
Over 12 to 18 months, a Biblically-based 12-step program provides Christ-centered healing as the mind is renewed and transformed. ACC-accredited counselors meet regularly to address individual issues. Vocational and academic opportunities alongside practical communal living and life skills prepare for re-entry into real-world situations. Family reintegration is facilitated as much as possible.
30, 60, & 90-day Intermediate-length programs also available.

While designed for professing Christians, nobody is excluded as long as they remain respectful and realize that they will be attending worship services and participating in Bible study and memorization.
ABOUT

ABOUT:

New Heartland ( campus-based program)

"A NEW HEART will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26.

  • The Bible is central to our healing: "the word of God is living, and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  Heb. 4:12.

  • Wholehearted commitment on the part of participants is expected: "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways." James 1:8.

  • We are intentionally focused: "Because narrow is the gate, and hard is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:13.  Yet, "...whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely."  Rev. 22:17.  And God says "seek me and ye shall live." Amos 5:4.

  • This is a ministry for those who know that they are broken. Jesus said: "...They that are well need not a physician, but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."    Luke 5:31 & 32.

  • Quality over quantity.  One day at a time, one individual at a time: "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."  Luke 5:10.

  • Our fiscal accountability policy: "...it is required of stewards, that a man be found faithful." I Corinthians 4:2.

  • Distancing oneself from some former attitudes and environments is an essential element in recovery: "And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." Romans 12:2.

  • Mutual honesty and encouragement are essentials. "Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed..." James 5:16.   "Iron sharpeneth iron;..." Proverbs 27:17.

  • While change can take place quickly, as when someone places their faith in Christ, it is also a life-long growth process (progressive sanctification):  "...He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."  Philippians 1:6.

  • Bible knowledge and memorization shall be a program staple: "Thy Word have I hidden in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."  Psalms 119:11.

  • Finances?  "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Psalms 118:8.  "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:19.

  • NOT multi-faith (All roads, etc.) "For there is one God, and ONE mediator between God and men, the man, Christ Jesus," I Timothy 2:5.  And "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven....whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12.

  • Our teaching concerning authority: "Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work," Titus 3:1.   And concerning ungodly laws: "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..."   II Corinthians 10:4.   But.... “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and unto God the things which are God’s.”           Luke 20:25.

  • Long-term programs are necessary for solidifying good habits and boundaries. "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls." Proverbs 25:26.  But "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and he delighteth in his way." Psalms 37:23.

WHAT IS LONG-TERM RECOVERY?

Not all issues require 12-18 months of intensive residential recovery, BUT SOME DO. And New Heartland Men's Recovery Center is designed to provide that level of recovery.
Rather than focus on just drugs and alcohol (which may indeed be a factor), a Biblical 12-step recovery model will be used, with Jesus Christ as our Higher Power, and realizing that ANYTHING that controls you separates you from God, family, church, and society.
